2. Description of Service
ReliefLink is a disaster relief coordination platform that connects:
- Emergency victims with volunteers and coordinators
- Volunteers with tasks matching their skills and location
- Donors with verified relief needs
- Coordinators with tools to manage disaster response
3. User Accounts
3.1 Registration
To use certain features, you must create an account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information
- Maintain the security of your account credentials
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
- Be responsible for all activities under your account
3.2 Account Types
Our platform supports multiple user roles:
- Victims: Can report emergencies and request assistance
- Volunteers: Can claim and complete tasks
- Coordinators: Can manage incidents and assign tasks
- Donors: Can make donations and track impact
4. User Conduct
You agree not to:
- Use the platform for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
- Impersonate any person or entity
- Interfere with or disrupt the platform's operation
- Submit false or misleading information
- Harass, abuse, or harm other users
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the platform
- Use automated systems to access the platform without permission
5. Emergency Services
Important: ReliefLink is a coordination platform and does not provide direct emergency services. In life-threatening emergencies, always call your local emergency services (e.g., 911 in the United States) immediately.
We facilitate connections between users but cannot guarantee:
- Response times or availability of volunteers
- Quality or outcome of assistance provided
- Safety of volunteers or victims
6. Donations
Donations made through ReliefLink:
- Are processed through secure third-party payment processors
- Are used for disaster relief efforts as specified
- Are subject to our transparency and reporting policies
- May be eligible for tax deductions (consult a tax professional)
- Refund policies are handled on a case-by-case basis
7. Intellectual Property
The Platform and its content, features, and functionality are owned by ReliefLink and protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ReliefLink shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ReliefLink, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses arising out of your use of the platform or violation of these terms.
10. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the platform immediately, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms of Service or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties.
11. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes via email or platform notification. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
